Self-pick roles
Let members give themselves chat roles, such as their platform or region, on your community page.

Self-pick roles do the job of the Discord bot's reaction roles in your community chat on the website: members choose roles for themselves.
Choosing the roles#
Make the roles first in your chat settings (Community page › Chat › Chat settings › Roles). Then tick the ones members may pick on Self-pick roles and save.
Only roles without any permission can be picked. A role that can moderate, manage channels or manage roles is never one members give themselves, even if it was ticked before someone added a permission to it.
How members pick them#
Members who joined the chat see Pick your roles under the channel list on your community page's Chat tab. Clicking a role gives it to them; clicking it again takes it away. The role's colour shows on their name, and channels you open to that role (channel permissions) show up for them.
Picking roles is on the website. In the app, members already see the channels their roles open.
