The power manager lets you start, stop and restart your dedicated server without opening your
host's panel. Use the /server power commands in Discord, the buttons on the bot's Server Power
Settings panel, or the Server Power Manager card on your server's profile page. Turn on
Server Auto Boot and the bot starts your server again when it goes offline. Switch on
Maintenance Mode when you need it to stay off.
Before you start#
The power manager needs Gold or higher on your Discord server. To use the buttons on the website, you also need to be a Gold or higher supporter yourself. See Premium.
Your game server needs:
- A web admin user with full access. The bot logs in to your dedicated server's web interface to send start and stop commands.
- Game admin enabled for that user. If it isn't, the bot can't start, stop or restart the game server.
It's possible to restart the server while it's saving, which can make the savegame disappear. If that happens you'll have to restore the previous savegame yourself. The bot can't save the game remotely, so save in game before you stop or restart.
Set it up#
1. Add the web login#
Log in to your dedicated server admin website, then go to Settings > Manage Web Users > Add User and create a user with full access. Make sure game admin is enabled for it.
Go to Game servers, click the green pencil button next to your server, then click Extended Settings in On this page.
Fill in Server Url, Admin Username and Admin Password.
Click Test Server Login. You should see Login Status: Success and Server Status: Online (or Offline if the server is stopped).
2. Pick the power manager channel#
It's in Extended Settings, below the login fields.
Pick a text channel in Server Power Manager Channel. The bot posts its progress updates here, and it ties power commands in this channel to this game server.
Click Save Server Settings.
You can also set the channel from Discord. When the power manager has no channel, the bot's reply
includes a Set Power Manager Channel button. In a channel that isn't linked yet,
/server power maintenance offers Link This Channel to a Server. Both need the Manage
Server permission.
Give each game server its own power manager channel, and run the /server power commands in that
server's channel. The bot uses the channel to know which game server you mean.
Settings explained#

Commands#
/server power log Admins & command rolesSee recent starts, stops and restarts for a game server.
/server power maintenance Admins & command rolesView and toggle server auto boot for the linked game server.
/server power restart Admins & command rolesRestart the linked game server.
/server power schedule Admins & command rolesSee each game server's scheduled restart times.
/server power start Admins & command rolesStart the linked game server.
/server power stop Admins & command rolesStop the linked game server.
The /server power commands need Administrator or a role allowed to use the server command
(see Command roles). The buttons on the Server Power Settings panel
also need the Manage Server permission.
Start, stop or restart from Discord#
In the server's power manager channel, run /server power start, /server power stop or /server power restart.
Choose it from Select a server. Start lists offline servers, stop and restart list online ones. Only servers with a web login show.
For stop and restart, type CONFIRM in the Type CONFIRM to proceed box. Start doesn't ask.
The bot replies "Restart request queued. The server power manager will post progress updates here shortly." (or Boot or Stop) and posts a status message in the channel.
The Server Power Settings panel#
Run /server power maintenance in a power manager channel. The bot posts a Server Power
Settings panel for that channel's game server, showing Server, Status, Players
Online, Maintenance Mode and Server Auto Boot, with these buttons:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable Maintenance Mode / Disable Maintenance Mode | Turns Maintenance Mode on or off. |
| Enable Auto Boot / Disable Auto Boot | Turns Server Auto Boot on or off. |
| Start Server | Starts the server. Greyed out while it's online or in Maintenance Mode. |
| Restart Server | Restarts the server. Greyed out while it's offline or in Maintenance Mode. |
| Stop Server | Stops the server. Greyed out while it's offline. |
Restart Server and Stop Server on the panel act straight away. There's no CONFIRM step.
See what happened#
/server power log shows a server's last 15 starts, stops, restarts and auto boots: when, who asked
(a member, Auto Boot, Scheduled Restart or Farming Session) and whether it failed.
/server power schedule lists every server's scheduled restart times.
Scheduled restarts#
Restarting once or twice a day keeps a busy server running smoothly. In Extended Settings, under
Game Server Power Manager, type your Restart Times, for example 04:00, 16:00, pick a
Discord Warning and save.
At each time the bot restarts the server the same way /server power restart does: players in game get
the 5 minute countdown, then it stops and starts again. Before that, it posts a warning in the power
manager channel. A scheduled restart is skipped when the server is offline or in Maintenance Mode.
Like any restart, a scheduled restart can catch the server while it's saving. Pick times right after your server's autosave if you can.
Use it from the website#
Open your server's public profile (the View server page button on the edit page). The Server Power Manager card shows Status, Players Online, Server Auto Boot and Maintenance Mode, with Start Server, Restart Server and Stop Server buttons and buttons to turn Maintenance Mode and Auto Boot on or off. Each asks you to confirm first. The card only shows for servers in your active Discord server. Progress is posted in your power manager channel.
Auto boot and Maintenance Mode#
Server Auto Boot starts your server again when the bot sees it go from online to offline. It's skipped when Maintenance Mode is on or no power manager channel is set.
The power actions keep auto boot in step with what you meant to do:
- Start turns Server Auto Boot on.
- Stop turns it off, so a server you stopped on purpose stays off.
- Restart turns it on while restarting, then puts it back the way it was.
Maintenance Mode is for when the server must stay down, for example while you change mods. Start and restart are refused with "Maintenance Mode is enabled for this server. Disable it before starting or restarting the server." Turn it off when you're done.
What happens when you start, stop or restart#
- Your request goes into a queue. The power manager checks it every 5 seconds. Only one request per game server can wait in the queue at a time.
- On each Discord server, one power action runs at a time. If another is running, the bot posts "A restart is already in progress for Server. This boot will begin once it completes." and waits.
- The bot logs in to your server's web interface and works through the steps, editing one status message as it goes.
| Action | Status message title | Steps |
|---|---|---|
| Restart | Restarting server | Server Online Check, Stop Server, Start Server, Online |
| Start | Booting server | Server Offline Check, Start Server, Online |
| Stop | Shutting down server | Server Online Check, Stop Server, Offline |
- Restart: if players are online, the bot waits 5 minutes first so they can find a stopping point. It waits up to 3 minutes for the server to stop, then starts it and waits up to 3 minutes for it to come online, trying the start once more if needed.
- Start: the bot waits about a minute for the server to come online, then tries once more.
- Stop: the bot waits up to 3 minutes for the server to go offline.
Each step shows ⏳ waiting, 🔄 in progress, ✅ done or ❌ failed. The message turns green when everything succeeds and red if a step fails.
Troubleshooting#
"Server Power Manager is only available for Gold or higher status."#
Your Discord server needs Gold or higher. On the website, the card also shows this if you aren't a Gold or higher supporter yourself.
The server isn't in the list, or there's nothing to pick#
- "No servers have the extended server settings (web URL, username, password) configured for power management yet.": add the web login in Extended Settings.
- "There are no offline servers available to start." or "There are no online servers available to manage.": start lists offline servers, stop and restart list online ones.
"This channel is not linked to a game server."#
Run the command in the server's power manager channel, or click Link This Channel to a Server and pick the server.
"Server Power Manager is disabled because no channel is set."#
Pick a Server Power Manager Channel on the edit page, or click Set Power Manager Channel.
The power manager switched itself off#
If the bot can't reach your power manager channel, it turns the power manager off for that server, and the edit page shows Server Power Manager was automatically disabled. Give the bot View Channel and Send Messages there, then pick the channel again.
"Server Power Manager cannot post in that channel"#
The bot that handles your server can't see that channel. Give it View Channel and Send Messages there, then try again.
The action timed out or failed#
- Click Test Server Login on the edit page. Login Status: Failed means the URL, username or password is wrong.
- Check game admin is enabled for the web user.
- Check the server's web interface is up and reachable from the internet.
Start or restart is refused#
Maintenance Mode is on. Turn it off on the panel or the server profile page.
"Confirmation text did not match."#
Type CONFIRM exactly (capitals don't matter) and run the command again.
