Modder Support Terms

Last Updated: October 25, 2026 (version 2026-10-25)

These Modder Support Terms explain how fans support ModBarn modding teams on FarmSimGame.com. They are part of our Terms and Conditions and are offered by Sargent Interactive LLC ("Sargent Interactive", "we", "us"), which runs FarmSimGame.com. "Modder" means the leader of a ModBarn modding team who sets up support for the team. "Supporter" means anyone who sends support to a team. Supporters agree to these Terms by ticking the box before paying; Modders agree when they set up support.

In short: mods are always free. Support is a voluntary thank-you that unlocks nothing. Payments go to the Modder's own Stripe account, not to us; we keep an 8% platform fee. Modders handle their own taxes and refunds. This is separate from FSG Supporter memberships, which support Farm Sim Game itself.

Part A. For everyone

1. What Modder Support is

• Modder Support lets you send money to a ModBarn modding team as a thank-you: a monthly supporter subscription or a one-time payment (when available).
• It is completely separate from FSG Supporter subscriptions (Bronze to Diamond), which pay Sargent Interactive for features on Farm Sim Game. Supporting a modder gives you no FSG Supporter features, and FSG Supporter payments don't go to modders.

2. Mods stay free

• Every mod on the ModBarn is free to download for everyone. GIANTS Software, which makes Farming Simulator, only allows modders to receive voluntary donations. Its rules (statement of 24 August 2026, and the ModHub terms, section 2.3) prohibit Patreon or other paid memberships, paid Discord roles or channels, "VIP" access, paid early access, donations required to download, selling mods or mod packs, restricted download speeds, and paid downloads or paid extra assets.
• So support on Farm Sim Game never unlocks a mod, an early or beta version, faster downloads, files, assets, private chats, roles or any other access, here or anywhere else. Supporters only get recognition: a supporter badge, a place on the team's supporters wall (if they choose), and the team's thanks.
• Choosing not to support never changes what you can download. The "No thanks, download for free" option is always there.

3. Who receives the money

• Each payment is charged directly to the Modder's own Stripe account, and the Modder is the recipient of the payment. Sargent Interactive provides the website and the payment tools and receives a platform fee of 8% of each payment, which Stripe sends to us automatically when the payment is made. Stripe's own processing fee also comes out of the Modder's share. We never hold or pay out a Modder's money.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Support payments are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible. They are not a purchase of goods or services.

Part B. For Supporters

4. Supporter subscriptions

• Automatic renewal. A supporter subscription renews automatically every month on the same date, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize the charge to your payment method each month until you cancel.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time on the My Support page. Cancelling stops all future charges; you stay a supporter until the end of the month you already paid for.
• Price. The price of your tier never changes. If a team archives a tier, your subscription continues at the same price until you cancel.
• If a team stops support. If the team switches support off, or we do, no further charges are made and your supporter status lasts until the end of the period you paid for.
• Stripe emails you a receipt for every payment.

5. One-time support

• A one-time payment is charged once, for the amount you choose. You can add a short message for the team and choose whether your name appears on the team's supporters wall.

6. Refunds

• Because support is voluntary and unlocks nothing, payments are generally not refundable. The team that received a payment may refund it at its discretion; ask them in their chat on Farm Sim Game.
• We will refund, or require the team to refund, a payment that was charged in error (such as a duplicate charge), made without your permission, or made to a team that broke these Terms, and any refund applicable consumer law requires. Email terms@sargentinteractive.com if you can't reach the team.
• Please contact the team or us before disputing a charge with your bank. If a payment is reversed through a chargeback, the supporter status it paid for ends.

7. Age

• If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to pay, and they agree to these Terms for you.

8. What the team sees

• The team sees your Farm Sim Game display name, your tier and when you started, unless you hide your name from the supporters wall (then you show as "Anonymous" in their list).
• Because the payment is made to the team's Stripe account, Stripe gives the team the payment details it needs for its records, such as your name, email address and the amount. See our Privacy Policy.

Part C. For Modders

9. Who can receive support

• You must be the leader of an approved ModBarn modding team, at least 18 years old, and able to open a Stripe account in your country. You agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement when you connect your Stripe account, and to the monetization documents of Sargent Interactive's billing service shown during setup.
• The information you give us and Stripe must be true and kept up to date.

10. Keeping mods free

• You must follow GIANTS Software's rules and the ModHub terms. Every mod you publish anywhere must stay free for everyone, and you must not offer anything listed in section 2 in return for support, on Farm Sim Game or anywhere else (Patreon, Discord, your website or any other place).
• Supporter tiers are thank-you levels only. Tier names, descriptions and your pitch must not promise access, files, early releases or anything else in return, and must not say support is charitable or tax-deductible.
• You may only accept support for work you have the rights to. Mods made with others' assets need their permission.

11. Fees

• Our platform fee is 8% of each payment, taken automatically when the payment is made. Stripe's processing fees also come out of your share; you can see them in your Stripe dashboard and the revenue report in Modder Tools.
• We may change the platform fee with at least 30 days' notice. A new fee only applies to payments made after it takes effect.

12. Taxes

• Support paid to you is your income. You are solely responsible for reporting it and for any taxes on it, including income tax, self-employment tax, and any sales tax, VAT or GST that may apply where you live, and for any registrations those require. You confirm this in a tax responsibility statement during setup.
• Stripe verifies your identity and tax details and may send you tax forms (for example a Form 1099-K or 1099 in the United States). Sargent Interactive does not collect your tax number and does not withhold taxes, except where the law requires it.
• Sargent Interactive is responsible only for the taxes on its own platform fee.

13. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks

• Payments are made to your Stripe account, so refunds, disputes and chargebacks are yours to handle and are charged to your Stripe account, as set out in Stripe's terms. You can refund payments from your Stripe dashboard.
• You authorize us to refund payments made to you in the cases listed in section 6.

14. Payouts

• Stripe pays your balance to your bank account on its own schedule. Stripe may delay, hold or reserve funds under its terms; we have no control over that.

15. Teams

• Support for a team is paid to the Stripe account of the leader who set it up. Sharing it with other team members is between you and them.
• If the team's leader changes, the new leader must set support up again with their own Stripe account. We may switch off support connected to a former leader.

16. Switching support off

• You can switch support off at any time in Modder Tools. Renewals then stop at the end of each supporter's paid period; nothing is refunded automatically.
• We may switch off support for a team, or remove its tiers or pitch, if it breaks these Terms or GIANTS' rules, if we receive a credible complaint from GIANTS Software or a rights holder, if there are signs of fraud or unusual numbers of disputes, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we tell you why. Breaking section 10 can also end your access to the Modder tools.

17. Your responsibility

• You will cover Sargent Interactive's reasonable costs and losses from claims caused by your support activities, including claims by GIANTS Software, rights holders, Supporters or tax authorities, except where we caused them. This adds to section 12 of our Terms and Conditions.

Part D. General

• Changes. We'll give Modders at least 30 days' notice of material changes and may ask you to accept the new version before you can keep receiving support. Changes never affect a payment already made.
• Our Terms and Conditions cover everything else, including limits of liability and governing law.
