Fan Support for modders
Let players support your modding team with monthly supporter tiers and one-time payments, paid to your own Stripe account, while every mod stays free.
On this page
Fan Support lets players thank your team with monthly supporter subscriptions and one-time payments. The money goes straight to the team leader's own Stripe account; Farm Sim Game keeps an 8% platform fee. Your mods stay free for everyone, always.
Before you start#
- You lead an approved ModBarn team. Only the team leader can set up and change Fan Support. Other members can see how it's going.
- You're 18 or older and can open a Stripe account in your country. Stripe requires both to pay you.
- You'll need your legal name (or business name) and a bank account for Stripe.
GIANTS Software only allows voluntary donations to modders. Supporting must never unlock a mod, an early or beta version, downloads, files, assets, or paid chats or roles, on Farm Sim Game or anywhere else (Patreon, Discord, your website). Supporters get your thanks, a supporter badge and their name on your supporters wall, nothing more. Breaking this ends Fan Support for your team and can cost you your modding account. See the Modder Support Terms.
Set it up#
Open Modder Tools › Fans › Fan Support. If you lead more than one team, pick the team at the top right. The Set up card ticks each step off as you go.
Read the Modder Support Terms and the billing service's monetization documents listed with them. Tick both boxes (you agree, and you're 18 or older) and press Agree and continue.
Enter your legal name or business name, choose how you get paid (for example Individual or Single-member LLC), tick the box and press Confirm. Farm Sim Game never asks for your tax number.
Choose your country (where you live, or where your business is registered; Stripe can't change it later) and press Connect with Stripe. Stripe asks for your details and a bank account (about 5 minutes) and sends you back to Fan Support. If Stripe needs more information later, the button says Continue with Stripe.
Press Switch fan support on. Nothing shows to players yet: they need a tier to pick.
Under Add a tier, pick a template or choose Custom (see Supporter tiers) and press Add tier. As soon as there's a tier, your team page has a support box, and your mods' pages and download pages drop their ads and show ways to support you instead.
Supporter tiers#
Start from a template: Field Hand ($3), Tractor Driver ($5), Farm Manager ($10, marked Most popular) and Harvest Hero ($25). Use this fills in the Custom form, so you can change the name, price, thank-you line or look before you add it.
Make it yours: every tier has an icon (🌱 🚜 🌾 🌻 🐄 🏡 🛠️ ❤️ ⭐ 🏆 💎 👑) and a colour. Players see them on your team page, on your mods' pages, in the download box, next to supporters' names on your supporters wall, and as supporters' badges in your team's chat. Instead of an icon you can upload your own image (JPG, PNG or GIF under 2 MB; it's cropped to a square). Tick Mark as "Most popular" on one tier to highlight it; it's picked for players by default.
Change a tier: press Edit to change its name, thank-you line, icon, colour or highlight. The price can't change.
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Billing | Monthly only. Supporters renew every month until they cancel. |
| Price | $1 to $500 a month. A tier's price can't change once it exists: archive it and add a new one. |
| How many | Up to 5 active tiers per team. |
| What they give | Thanks only. Don't promise access, files or early releases in a tier's name or description. |
| Archiving | Press Archive to stop new supporters joining a tier. Current supporters keep it at the same price until they cancel. |
Settings explained#
These are in the Options card.

| Thank-you message | Shown to players right after they support you. | Empty |
| Show the supporters wall on our team page | Lists current supporters, and one-time supporters from the last 90 days, who chose to show their name. | On |
| Accept one-time support | Lets players send a one-time payment. Only works once Farm Sim Game switches one-time support on. | On |

Money and taxes#
- Fees. Farm Sim Game's platform fee is 8% of each payment. Stripe's processing fee also comes out of your share. Both are taken automatically when the payment is made.
- Revenue. The Supporters card shows this month's gross, the FSG fee, Stripe fees, refunds and an estimated net. Open your Stripe dashboard has your exact balance, payouts, refunds and tax forms.
- Payouts. Stripe pays your bank on its own schedule. Farm Sim Game never holds your money.
- Taxes. Support is your income. You're responsible for reporting it and paying any taxes on it. Stripe may send you tax forms (for example a 1099 in the US).
- Refunds and disputes happen on your Stripe account. You can refund supporters from your Stripe dashboard.
Your team chat#
Your team has an open chat room that players join from your team page. As team leader you own the room, and your team members are its moderators: you can time out or ban people who break the rules, and make other people moderators. Everyone can report messages to Farm Sim Game staff.
Switching it off#
Press Switch off in the Set up card. Supporters won't be charged again; each keeps their supporter status until the end of the month they paid for. Nothing is refunded automatically. You can switch it back on later.
Troubleshooting#
The billing service didn't answer#
The page shows an error when Farm Sim Game can't reach the billing service. Wait a minute and reload. If it keeps happening, open a ticket.
I can't press "Switch fan support on"#
All the earlier steps need a tick first: terms, taxes and Stripe (Stripe must have finished checking your account and say it can take payments).
Staff switched off Fan Support for my team#
You'll see the reason at the top of Fan Support and in a notification. Open a ticket if you have questions.
Our team leader changed#
Support is paid to the Stripe account of the leader who set it up. A new leader has to set Fan Support up again with their own Stripe account.
