Timed messages let the bot post for you on a schedule. You pick a time, a channel and what to say, and the bot posts it once a day at that time. Use them for daily server restart reminders, "vote for us" nudges, event pings or a daily rules reminder. You can also have the bot clean up after itself so the channel doesn't fill up.
Before you start#
- All times are US Central time. If you live elsewhere, work out the Central time for when you want it to post.
- How many timed messages you can have depends on your supporter tier (see Limits).
- If a channel is missing from the list, run
/setupin Discord, choose Update Channels and Roles for Website, then reload the page.
Set it up#
It's under Automation & alerts in the sidebar.
A form opens. If the button is missing, you've reached your tier's limit.
In Time, pick the hour and minute (US Central) for the bot to post.
Type it in Content. You can use placeholders.
Choose where the bot posts it in Channel.
Set Message Type to Regular Message or Embed Message, and choose a Message Delete option.
Click Add Response at the bottom of the form. The message shows in Active Responses with its time.
Edit or delete a timed message#
In Active Responses, click the pencil button to open Edit timed message. Change any field and click Update Timed Message, or click Back to Timed Messages to leave without saving. Click the trash button to delete it. You're asked to confirm first.
Settings explained#
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Time | The hour and minute the bot posts each day, in US Central time. | — |
| Content | The message text. Supports placeholders. For an embed, this is the embed's text. | — |
| Channel | Where the bot posts the message. | Disabled |
| Message Type | Regular Message posts plain text. Embed Message puts your text in an embed. | Regular Message |
| Message Delete | Whether the bot deletes the message later (see below). | Disable - Do not delete this message. |
Message Delete options#
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Disable - Do not delete this message. | The message stays. |
| Delete Message after 1 Minute | The bot deletes the message 1 minute after posting it. |
| Delete Message after 5 Minute | The bot deletes it after 5 minutes. |
| Delete Message after 10 Minute | The bot deletes it after 10 minutes. |
| Delete Previous Message When This One Posts Again | Each day, right before posting, the bot deletes the copy it posted the day before. Only the latest one stays in the channel. |
The timed delete runs inside the bot. If the bot restarts during those minutes, that day's message stays and you'll need to delete it yourself.
How the schedule works#
- The bot checks every minute. When the clock reaches your Time, it posts the message.
- Each timed message posts once per day. There's no "every hour" or "every N minutes" option. To post more often, add more timed messages with different times.
- Saving an edit resets the "already posted today" mark. If you change the time to later today, it posts again today at the new time, even if it already posted earlier.
What an embed looks like#
Embed Message posts your Content as the embed's text, with the time it was posted at the bottom. It has no title. The color is your server's Bot Embed Color from Bot settings. For a title, fields or images, use the embed builder instead.
Placeholders#
| Placeholder | Becomes |
|---|---|
{server} | Your Discord server's name |
{members} | Your server's member count |
{role:ROLE_ID} | A mention of that role |
{user:USER_ID} | A mention of that user |
{channel:CHANNEL_ID} | A link to that channel |
To get an ID, turn on Developer Mode in Discord (User Settings > Advanced), then right-click a role, user or channel and choose Copy ID. More in the placeholder reference.

The bar at the top of the page shows how many you've used. See Premium or the supporter plans.
Troubleshooting#
It didn't post#
- Check the Time is in US Central, not your local time.
- Make sure a Channel is selected, not Disabled - Select Channel to Enable.
- Look for Timed Messages in Bot Error Logs on your dashboard and give the bot Send Messages in that channel.
- If it already posted today, it won't post again until tomorrow. Saving an edit lets it post again today.
It posted at the wrong time#
The time is US Central. Edit the message and set the Central time that matches your local time.
Symbols show up as codes like &#
The website encodes &, <, > and " when it saves the Content, and the bot posts it as
stored. Write "and" instead of &, and use placeholders like {role:ROLE_ID} for mentions
instead of typing <@&…>.
The old message wasn't deleted#
Delete Previous Message When This One Posts Again only deletes the copy the bot posted the last time while that option was on. Messages posted before you picked it have to be deleted by hand.
