YouTube alerts in chat

Post new uploads from YouTube channels in your community chat on the website and in the app.

YouTube alerts post a card in your community chat when a YouTube channel uploads a video, the same way the Discord bot's YouTube alerts do in Discord. They use the same YouTube feed, so a video shows up within about 10 to 20 minutes of going live.

Adding a channel#

  1. Find the channel ID. It starts with UC. On the channel's YouTube page open About (or "more"), then Share channel › Copy channel ID. An address like youtube.com/channel/UC... works too; @handles don't.
  2. Pick the chat channel to post in.
  3. Write the message, or leave it empty for the standard one. {author} is the YouTube channel's name, {title} the video's title and {url} its link.

Only videos uploaded after you add a channel are posted.

How many channels#

Your community's tier sets how many YouTube channels you can follow, the same number as for the Discord bot's YouTube alerts. Supporter tiers allow more.
